It is a quiet and mundane day aboard the Paradise Line, a once popular but now lackluster locomotive, when suddenly, gunshots are heard and terror strikes!  Monty Marmamilton, the owner of the once famous train, has been brutally murdered by the mysterious Blackout Killer.  Everyone aboard the train is a suspect, and it is up to Steve Nebbirg, a disorganized but determined detective, to solve the case.  Join him as he interrogates the guests and staff in order to discover who the killer truly is.

“I’ve always enjoyed making people laugh,” says playwright Gribben.  “As I began writing this play, I thought of all the comedic possibilities of a murder mystery.  As the ideas piled up, the play blossomed.”

Murder on Paradise Line is part of the New Play Initiative at the Black Box, which presents readings of new works in progress on the third Sunday of each month. “Dennis is such a talented young writer.  I wish that I had had one tenth of his talent at his age.  One of the most important things about playwriting is having the years to develop.  With a number of full-lengths and productions under his belt, Dennis is off to a great start and has a bright future.  I’m glad Black Box is able to help bring his work to the public’s attention,” said Alexis Kozak, Literary Manager of the Black Box.
