STARTING THIS MONDAY, Nov. 18 at 8 p.m. UCPAC's Hamilton Stage is the site for a 6-concert series of performances by world-class Jazz musicians playing the music of the world-class Jazz musicians who taught them to play world-class Jazz.

That's how it works in a tradition-based music like Jazz - the Pupil always carries the legacy of the Master to new and greater heights. And we listeners get to hear music that soars beyond anything we've ever experienced.

One of the Jazz idiom's top performers, Canadian piano virtuoso Renee Rosnes leads off the RSI Bank Masters on Masters Jazz Series with a concert devoted to the innovative music of Joe Henderson, a legendary jazz saxophonist with whom Renee played and toured for several years.

The series is funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and features a roundtable chat on Henderson's life and music led by New York Times jazz writer Nate Chinen. The roundtable and concert will be recorded for the Jazz Oral History Archives at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC., and WBGO-FM Jazz Radio 88.3 deejay Gary Walker will serve as the evening's emcee.

Renee Rosnes is one of the premier pianists and composers of her generation. She has recorded and toured with a veritable Who's Who of Jazz, being the pianist of choice for such legendary musicians as Joe Henderson, Wayne Shorter, JJ Johnson, Buster Williams, James Moody and Bobby Hutcherson as well as a featured performer with the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band.

Tickets still available for what will be an incredible tribute concert to one of the great Father Spirits of Jazz.

THROUGH THE GENEROUS support of our local RSI Bank and the National Endowment for the Arts, the RSI Bank Masters on Masters Jazz Series was put together by Rahway's own

Jim Luce, a Peabody Award-winning radio producer and founder/artistic director of the world-renowned Caramoor Jazz Festival, Downtown Los Angeles Piano Festival, Monk at 96, Texas Jazz & Blues Greats and more.

Jim has been presenting top jazz and classical performers for years - in his opinion, the RSI Bank Masters on Masters Jazz Series is the most powerful assembly of Jazz all-stars he's ever amassed. See more about All Jim's Jazz HERE.

And get ready for these upcoming  Masters on Masters shows at Hamilton Stage ...
