Paper Mill Playhouse, one of the country’s premier not-for-profit theaters, is thrilled to announce a new arts education initiative, The Paper Mill Players Camp. The summer camp is a non-competitive, summer musical theater workshop in which students can have fun while honing their acting, singing and dancing skills.
“We are thrilled to add this summer program to our Theatre School offerings,” explains Theater School Director Mickey McNany. “Unlike our highly competitive Summer Musical Theater Conservatory, the Paper Mill Players Camp has no audition requirement and students will be enrolled on a first-come, first served basis. The mission of the Paper Mill Playhouse Theatre School is to offer an opportunity for any child who has the interest to be able to work on their performance skills. Even if a child has little interest in pursuing theater, the camp can provide valuable life skills like confidence and public speaking. This new summer workshop offers students to opportunity to get the training they need to be able to bring their talents to the next level, while at the same time having a summer of fun.”
“There are so many great skills that children learn from the arts including social skills, collaboration, focus and non-verbal communication. We’re delighted to add this to our summer offerings.” adds Education Director Lisa Cooney.
