JCC University–a new and innovative educational program launched this past spring at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades—is taking a break from its regular programming to present some light summer fare with Summer Break with Karen Bergreen, Comedian, Author and Stressed-Out Mom.

Karen Bergreen earned a degree in European History at Harvard, interned for politicians, museums, and non-profit development organizations, and then became a lawyer and clerked for a federal district judge. And after all that, she switched gears and become a comedian—and a very successful one.

Karen has performed all over the US and Canada and has entertained audiences at just about every club in New York City. She is a regular at Gotham and The Comic Strip, frequently appears on Comedy Central, and was a regular panelist on Can You Tell, a game show on The Oxygen Network. She has performed at the Friars’ Club, the Kennedy Center and the HBO Comedy Festival in Aspen. In addition to her stand-up comedy, Karen has made cameo appearances on VH1, Court TV, Law and Order and USA Networks. Now married and a mom, Karen has also taken up a new form of creative expression—writing—and has published two highly entertaining books: Following Polly and Perfect is Overrated.

Join others for this entertaining event, meet others in the community, and learn about what JCC University is planning for its fall programming.
