  • At 12:30 PM on August 12, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's Next Stage Ensemble will present an adaptation of Beaumarchais's play The Marriage of Figaro outside Dolan Hall at the College of St. Elizabeth.
  • The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey will then present the opening concert at 3:00 PM in beautiful Dolan Hall. Internationally renowned recorder artist John Burkhalter will refresh the audience with a delightful recorder concerto of Antonio Vivaldi.    Winners of the prestigious Pearl and Julius Young Rising Stars Music Competition—clarinetist Jessica Smith, bassist Alex Bicard, and violinist NaYoung Yang—will perform concertos by Mozart and Dittersdorf. Guitarist Celil Refik Kaya will premier Derwyn Holder's Guitar Concerto, an eagerly anticipated highlight!
  • Friday Night, August 17, is Chamber Music Night, at 7:30 PM at Grace Church, 4 Madison Ave, Madison, New Jersey.    Presenting a dazzling array of music from all periods will be early music ensemble Arioso Consorte and the esteemed faculty of The Calderone School of Music.
  • Saturday Night, August 18, is Theatre Night, at 7:30 PM at Grace Church. Presented in cabaret style will be the 5th episode of Cakes and Ale, a farce in 17th century style written by Jewel Seehaus-Fisher and featuring a zany cast of beloved characters (portrayed by John Lamb, Brian Jamieson, Don Sheasley, Laine Sutton, E. Michael Markwis, Nancy Connell and Anthony Bevilacqua) and songs of Henry Purcell and John Dowland.
Cakes and Ale will be followed by the first semi-staged performance of Mark Twain and the General.  The one-act opera was composed by Robert W. Butts to a libretto by Seehaus-Fisher.   Starring in this emotionally moving production will be John Lamb as Ulysses S. Grant, Brian Jamieson as Mark Twain, and Karole Lewis as Julia Grant.
  • Fresh Breezes concludes with a spectacular concert-staged production of Mozart's most beloved opera—The Magic Flute.   The all-star cast with orchestra and chorus will bring Mozart's unforgettable characters to life in the summer's most fun-filled and musically memorable performance.

Don't miss the summer's most refreshing week of great musical events!  For further information, please watch the performers discuss the performance or visit the BONJ website to order your tickets today.
