THEATRE WORKSHOPS

MUSICAL THEATRE
Tuesdays: 4:30 - 5:45 PM
Ages 7 - 12

This 8 week course gives kids the opportunity to perform SONGS and DANCES from Broadway Musicals.  The goal is to develop confidence, technique, and character development.   We want to see each student discover and reach their individual full potential as performers.  This workshop will teach the students how to approach a song from the character's perspective and join the music with the lyrics on the page.  Students will also discover music and material that works best for their vocal range and skill levels. Showcase performance at the end of the session

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED MUSICAL THEATRE PERFORMANCE
Tuesdays: 5:45 - 7:00 PM
   
Ages 13-18

Perfect the art of singing on stage during this both fun and challenging 8 week course with instructor, Michael Bartoli. Students will learn how to interpret character, style and given circumstance to make words and music leap off the page into an exciting musical performance. By approaching every song in dramatic terms and guided by good vocal technique, students will develop the skills necessary to reach their full potential. At the end of the course, each student will perform in a musical showcase featuring their best work.

CREATIVE DRAMA 
Wednesdays: 4:15 - 5:30 PM

Ages 7 11  

Wednesdays: 5:30 - 6:45 PM
Ages 12 - 18

In this workshop you will participate in improvisation and theatrical games, leading up to working on scenes and monologues.  This workshop helps to develop self-confidence, builds self-esteem, allows for creativity, and becoming comfortable in front of an audience.  Students will learn to expand their imaginations, given the tools to get them out of their heads, staying in the moment, and how to "let go" of all inhibitions while on the stage.  We will explore characterization, blocking, movement, character development, and much more.  The goal of this workshop is to develop performance skills and technique while having fun on the stage.

INTRO TO ACTING SHAKESPEARE
Tuesdays: 7:00-8:00 PM 
Ages 13-21

In this 8 week course, students will learn to bring the Bard's legendary characters to life in real, actable, contemporary human terms. By learning the basics of text analysis, rhythm, meter, and good vocal technique, Shakespeare's immortal verse comes easily within reach for the beginning actor. Acting coach, Michael Bartoli, provides a fun, active, nurturing environment to explore the scope of both Shakespearean comedy and tragedy. At the end of the course, each student will perform the monologues they've worked on for an exciting evening of classical theatre
