Hilarious and often poignant, Modern Orthodox is about a young Jewish couple living on the Upper West Side who are provoked to question not only their commitment to each other but also the depth of their religious feeling when a stranger from another sect arrives at their door with a most unusual marital problem.

Featuring Jordan Zaretsky (South Amboy), Darren Carfano (Suffern NY), Vanessa (Pellecchia) Garrabrant (Harrison NY) and Joanna (Bell) Koster (Hoboken).

"Modern Orthodox is accessible to everyone... full of risky, sharp-edged comedy" —Talkin’Broadway.com

Variety said, “Daniel Goldfarb has written an adorable romantic comedy, with honest to God belly laughs, about love and sex and faith and friendship.” The New York Times called Modern Orthodox “A sharp, snappy romantic comedy.” The New York Post called the play “Hilarious. There are lots of belly laughs, thanks to playwright Daniel Goldfarb's ability to craft genuinely funny one-liners."

As it has for the past few seasons, BCP will continue to offer a Q & A (“Questions & Artists”) discussion following select performances. The Modern Orthodox Q&A will kick off immediately following the Friday, January 20th performance. Admission is included in the cost of the ticket.

Parking is free for our patrons at the Park Avenue municipal lot, across the street, one-half block north of the theater.
