Continuing its main-stage schedule in early spring, ASC delves into one of Shakespeare’s most brutal and cynical stories, Macbeth. Shakespeare’s tale of witches, apparitions and superstitions resonates with our own sense of foreboding in a world where nothing is as it seems, where “Fair is foul and foul is fair.”

THE TEMPEST
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Producing Artistic Director Colette Rice

The Actors Shakespeare Company at NJCU concludes its "Rough Magic" season with a series of performances of The Tempest, Shakespeare’s tale of shipwrecks, spirits, monsters and magic.  Ms. Rice directs the outdoor production, which begins performances in June and runs for several weeks. Stages along the waterfront in Hoboken, Jersey City and Bayonne are being considered as venues.

All the main-stage productions have audience enrichment activities.  Before every performance, audience members are welcome to engage in Bard Banter, a discussion about the play held in the lobby of the theater. On select afternoons, Talkbacks are held after a matinee performance.
