AUDITION ALERT:
A Kids Forum will gear up for a long awaited 2011-2012 children’s theater season presenting three shows!
- JACK & THE BEANSTALK, by Bert Bernardi
- PIGS, THE MUSICAL, by Dawn Ward Lau
- A final spring show TBA
Productions directed and choreographed by Dawn Ward Lau. Both shows will be cast at this audition. A stipend will be paid for most roles.
WHEN: Saturday, September 17, from 1-3 PM
WHERE: Forum Theatre Arts Center, 314 Main Street Metuchen, NJ
Jack & the Beanstalk performances: Saturday October 15 & 22, 11 AM;
Sunday, October 16 & 23, 1:30 PM
- Please prepare a pop/rock song and bring sheet music in the correct key. (An accompanist will be provided)
- You may be asked to dance.
- Please bring a picture, resume, and jazz and tap shoes.

ROLES FOR JACK & THE BEANSTALK
- Jack: male, innocent, fun loving, playful, can be played by teen or adult (think Will Ferrell in ELF), tenor
- Jack’s Mom: CAST
- Giant: can be played by male or female with low voice, athletic, booming voice, role will be played on painter’s stilts
- Linda, the Giant’s Wife/Beanseller: male, giant’s comical wife, cocky accent, also doubles as Beanseller
- Three Beangirls: Similar to the Dreams from Dreamgirls, tight harmonies, also double roles as the narrator, harp, cow, red fairy (red fairy must roller skate)
- Goosey Goose: can be male or female, Goose that lays the Golden Eggs, Merman type, alto/tenor
ROLES FOR PIGS, THE MUSICAL
- Serena Pig: CAST
- Granny: CAST
- Bertha Pig: the svelte sister pig, weight loss coach, dissociates herself from being a pig, mezzo, high belt
- Sammy Pig: afro American male, funny, robust, soulful, always eating, high tenor
- Little Red: a fitness instructor, “angry yogi”, mezzo, high belt
- Wolf: clumsy, misunderstood, fun loving, must be an excellent dancer a la Michael Jackson, bari –tenor
- 2 ensemble roles: Play various characters must sing and dance
