PERFORMANCES: September 9 - 24,. Fridays and Saturday nights at 8 PM. Possible Sunday matinees September 11 and/or 18.

THE CHARACTERS:

  • John Wilkes Booth (1838 - 1865): Actor. Assassinated President Abraham Lincoln during a performance of "Our American Cousin" at Ford's Theatre, Washington, D.C., April 16, 1865. Vocal Range: F - F# , Baritenor
  • Charles Guiteau (1841 - 1882): Minister, lawyer, author. Assassinated President James Garfield in the waiting room of the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Station, Washington, D.C., July 2, 1881. Vocal Range: A - G, Baritenor
  • Leon Czolgosz (1873 - 1901): Anarchist. Assassinated President William McKinley during a public reception at the Temple of Music Pavilion at the Pan American Exposition, Buffalo, N.Y., September 6, 1901. Vocal Range: G - D (F), Bass
  • Giuseppe Zangara (1900 - 1933): Bricklayer. Attempted to assassinate President-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt as Roosevelt greeted well wishers in Bayfront Park, Miami, February 15, 1933. Zangara missed Roosevelt and hit Chicago Mayor Anton Cermak who later died of his wounds. Vocal Range: B - A, Tenor
  • Samuel Byck (1930 - 1974) : Tire Salesman. Attempted to assassinate President Richard Nixon; hijacked a commercial jet-liner which he intended to crash dive into the White House, Baltimore-Washington International Airport, February 22, 1974. Vocal Range: A - E#, Baritone
  • Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme (1948 - ): Member, Manson Family. Attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford (to provide a forum for Charlie Manson) as he left the Senator Hotel, Sacramento, Ca., September 5, 1975.Vocal Range: A - D#, Mezzo
  • Sara Jane Moore (1930 - ): Bookkeeper and former nursing student. Attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford as he left the St. Francis Hotel, San Francisco, Ca., September 22, 1975; just 17 days after "Squeaky" Fromme's attempt. Vocal Range: A - F, Mezzo Soprano
  • John Hinckley (1955 - ): Amateur Songwriter. Attempted to assassinate President Ronald Reagan (to impress actress Jodie Foster) as he left the Washington Hilton Hotel, Washington, D.C., March 30, 1981. Vocal Range: B - F#, Baritenor
  • Lee Harvey Oswald (1939 - 1963): Former Marine, custodian. Assassinated President John F. Kennedy from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository, Dallas, Texas, November 22, 1963. Vocal Range: C - G#, Tenor
  • David Herold (1842 - 1865): One of John Wilkes Booth's confederates; aided Booth in his escape attempt.
  • Emma Goldman (1869 - 1940): Turn of the century Anarchist, agitator and feminist.
  • A Balladeer: A 20th Century Folk Singer; Vocal Range: C - G#, Tenor
  • The Proprietor of the Carnival: Vocal Range: G - F, Baritenor
  • Five Bystanders (the chorus) Variety: Soprano, Mezzo, Alto, Tenor, Bass
