BOOTH, LINCOLN, AND BOOTH

By Thom Molyneaux
Directed by Rachel Black-Spaulding

BOOTH, LINCOLN, AND BOOTH examines the relationship between Edwin and John Wilkes Booth, brothers and Shakespearean actors. One lives on in history for assassinating President Lincoln. In this lively and theatrical piece, famous African-American Shakespearean actor Ira Aldridge and a small troupe of players enter the scene to bring to life the story of how these two brothers were torn apart by ideology and the Civil War, as well as the surprising connection between Lincoln, Shakespeare and the making of our nation.

Thom Molyneaux is an actor, director, playwright and Drama Critic. Recent directing credits: the critically acclaimed productions of Sean Reycraft’s One Good Marriage, Samuel Beckett’s Happy Days and his adaptation of Marivaux’s False Servant at the Garage Theatre Group.
