COOPER MILL IN CHESTER SETS AUGUST EVENTS

Sail, Sail Your Boat
Sunday, August 22, 1–3 PM
Children can assemble and decorate sailboats and then race them in the mill’s tailrace. Boats can be purchased for $8 or borrowed from the mill. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear water boots.



Industrial Metal Crafts Day
Sunday, August 7, 1–4 PM
Enjoy demonstrations of industrial metal crafts by blacksmith Kevin Perry, tinsmith George Pierson, and tin piercing with Frank and Anita Mai. Visitors will find out how these skills were important to the colonial people. Those who attend can make a tin-pierced ornament to take home. Donations are greatly appreciated.

Lace Creations
Saturday, August 14, 1–4 PM
Watch the nimble fingers of the Lost Art Lacers of North Jersey as they perform the centuries-old arts of bobbin lace making and tatting.

Miller's Pancake
Saturday, August 28, 1 PM
Join in this adaptation of Eric Carle’s Pancakes, Pancakes! Learn where flour comes from, and then watch the miller make a golden brown pancake.

Cooper Grist Mill is on Route 24 in Chester, near the junction of Rtes. 206 & 24.
