SEE Michael McDermott @ JSAC, 3/22

We are just one week away from the next show in the Split Level Concerts at JSAC series, when Michael McDermott takes the stage of JSAC’s Palaia Theater, making his long-awaited return to the Jersey Shore! Colton Kayser, a former Asbury Park Music Award winner now residing in Nashville, will open the show.

TICKETS: Advance tickets are just $30 ($35 on day of show) and can be purchased at https://jerseyshoreartscenter.ticketleap.com

Michael McDermott knows a thing or two about heartbreak and arrested development. Back in the early ‘90s, McDermott was the new toast of the major label recording industry with his debut album, 620 W. Surf. But in typical chew-them-up and spit-them-out style, McDermott had seemingly been tossed in the never-been bin by the end of that decade. He persevered, though, and built a career fortified by more than a dozen studio albums and critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, The New York Times, CNN, and The Washington Post, to name a few.

Opener Colton Kayser’s sound is cemented in the Alt-country/Americana world while retaining a melodic pop accessibility. His talents have not gone unnoticed, with nominations for Top Male Acoustic Act in the Asbury Music Awards in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015, and Top New Male Act at the 2012 Jersey Acoustic Music Awards.

Net ticket proceeds from all of the concerts in the series are being used to support the programming and arts education offered by the Jersey Shore Arts Center, a non-profit organization serving Ocean Grove and its surrounding areas. In addition, Jersey Shore Arts Center and Split Level Concerts are proud to partner with Brookdale Public Radio 90.5 The Night and Musicians On A Mission (MOAM) to promote the concert series.

Musicians On A Mission is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating connection and inspiring giving through music. MOAM will be on hand at all of the Split Level concerts, collecting cash donations for a charity chosen by MOAM for each concert. March's beneficiary of cash donations will be Monmouth County Habitat for Humanity

MOAM will also be collecting non-perishable food donations to benefit Fulfill. As a thank you for your cash or food donation(s), MOAM will hold a drawing for a chance to win a prize package donated by Michael McDermott, including vinyl copies of his two recently released LPs, a signed copy of his memoir, handwritten lyrics of the winner's choice and more!
