Join the Newark Public Library for Kwanzaa!

 

 Embrace the Spirit of Community

 

Greetings from the James Brown African American Room at the Newark Public Library!

We’re excited to share that the Friends of the James Brown African American Room are hosting their 8th Annual Kwanzaa Celebration on Friday, December 27th, at 1 PM! This cherished tradition is a chance to come together and honor the principles of Kwanzaa with an afternoon of meaningful activities and joyful reflection.

This year, the theme is Unity in the Community, focusing on the importance of connection, collaboration, and supporting local efforts that make a difference.

Here’s what’s planned:

·     Candle Lighting Ceremony

·     Family-Friendly Activities to engage and inspire

·     Panel Discussion: The Power of Community Organizations – Hear from local leaders on how we can all contribute to strengthening our neighborhoods

·     Live Entertainment to celebrate the spirit of the season

 

 

This event is FREE and open to the public!

Registration is not required but it is encouraged!

 


 

FREE PARKING will be available at the Essex County Parking Deck, entrance located at 20 Bridge St. Newark, NJ 07102
