This
exhibition features the work of New Jersey artist Maureen Chatfield, whose
large-scale paintings present reflections on Chatfield’s travel
experiences throughout her life, juxtaposed with abstract paintings
inspired by specific destinations.

Newly Opened! New Sculpture/New Jersey
Through
February 2, 2025
Continuing
its commitment to celebrating artists from across the Garden State, the
Morris Museum will presents a fresh look at contemporary sculpture. New Sculpture/New Jersey exhibits
the work of eleven sculptors working in a wide range of materials;
malleable aluminum, cold-worked glass, and industrial robotics join the
more traditional media of ceramics, forged iron, and steel. Showcasing
just over 40 works together with short video interviews with the
artists, the exhibition will connects visitors with the purpose,
context, and meaning driving their work and motivating their choices.

artist Samantha Modder creates space – embracing both real and imagined
worlds – in which reside larger-than-life Black, female characters.

Mystery Clocks and Magic
Automata
from the Collection of Richard Garriott

An astonishing display of five mid-nineteenth century
“Mystery Clocks,” or Pendule Mystérieuse, were manufactured in Paris by
magician and watchmaker Jean Eugène Robert-Houdin (1805–1871) and first
debuted at the 1839 Exhibition of French Industry.
