A Message from the Director

Summer Learning Wrap Up

Livingston Library Community,

Our 2024 Summer Programs for children, teens, and adults have officially commenced. We had so much fun learning and reading this summer with programs for all ages.

Children in grades 5 and under enjoyed our Youth Summer Learning Challenge, as we saw our highest participation ever, with 850 children joining the fun! The children read books and logged over 3.500 hours of reading. They also completed self, family/friend, community, and world adventures to earn prizes. New this year was Legend the Llama’s “Choose Your Own Adventure Wall,” where children voted on where our mascot should visit next. 4,552 children attended 45 library programs in July!

Teens in grades 6 and up participated in our Teen Summer Learning Challenge. They completed challenges, tracked reading, and earned prizes. This year, teens added their favorite songs of the summer to our Teen Summer Playlist on Spotify and created memories with our Summer Snapshots journal program. Our teens turned up this summer, with 225 participating in the challenge and 833 attending 24 programs in July!
