ABOUT THE SHOW
Teenage Charley
Brewster is a horror-film junkie, so it's no surprise that when a
reclusive new neighbor moves next-door, Brewster becomes convinced he's
a vampire. It's also no surprise when nobody believes him. After
strange events begin to occur, Charlie has no choice but to turn to the
only person who could possibly help: washed-up television vampire
killer Peter Vincent.
CHARACTERS
Charley Brewster - M
(17) Any race – An all-American teenager, and horror fanatic.
Amy Peterson - F (17)
Any race – An all-American teenager, both pretty and sweet. She is the
girlfriend of Charley Brewster.
Jerry Dandrige - M
(40s) Any race – A striking man, “seemingly” in his 40s, with a
seductive air, Jerry is Charley Brewster’s mysterious and reclusive new
next door neighbor. Charley observes Jerry and Billy’s suspicious
nightly activities from his bedroom window and becomes convinced that
Jerry is in fact, a real-life vampire.
Billy Cole - M (mid 20s
- early 30s) Any race – A handsome, cocky young man in his mid-20s to
early 30s, who, on the surface, is the roommate and handyman of Charley
Brewster’s strange new neighbor, Jerry Dandrige. In reality, his
attractive face and flippant demeanor hide a frightening monster
created to watch over and protect Jerry during the daylight hours and
assist him with his sinister activities at night.
Peter Vincent - M (50s)
Any race – An awful, washed-up British actor in his 50s, whose mind and
ego are firmly grounded in the “glory days” he never had. Peter is best
known (if known at all) as “The Great Vampire Killer” from terrible
AIP/Hammer-style horror films of the 60s and 70s. His one true fan is
Charley Brewster, who views Peter as his hero. Peter’s current job is
hosting his own late-night horror show, Fright Night Theatre, which
features a variety of films, many of which just happen to star him.
Judy Brewster - F (40s)
Any race – Charley Brewster’s lovably naïve mother. A pleasant looking,
warm woman in her 40s, who is juggling life as a working single-mother.
"Evil" Ed
Thompson - M (17) Any race – A creepy, 17-year-old “loser” with a laugh
that could cut glass. “Evil” Ed’s fixation on the macabre (horror films
in particular) coupled with his quirky behavior, have left him a
teenage outcast whom, for these reasons, his peers have dubbed him
“Evil” Ed. Despite being a loner, he still has one friend, Charley
Brewster, who, in regard to horror, is a kindred spirit.
Lieutenant Detective
Lennox - M (40+) Any race – A surly, skeptical, middle-aged police
officer, to whom Charley reports his suspicions about the activity at
the Dandrige house.
Jonathan (Blood Castle
Character), High School Football Jock, Donny, Leon, Coke User, M
(Various)- Featured smaller roles (may or may not be doubled)
Miss Nina, (Blood
Castle Character), Cheryl Lane (An Escort), 2nd Escort, Coke User,
First Lesbian, Second Lesbian, Older Woman - F (Various) -Featured
smaller roles (may or may not be doubled)
"Fright
Night" is a non-equity no-pay production.
