Nancy Méndez-Booth and SMUSH Gallery are thrilled to present This Boricua Life: Excerpts from A Memoir in Monologues, her in-progress memoir-in-monologues. A collection of linked stories that will live on the page and be brought to life on the stage, the memoir explores themes including family, caregiving, cultural guilt, nerdhood, and middle age.

“I am grateful for this opportunity to share my work live,” Nancy shared. “The experience and the audience feedback will help guide the development of the project and my continued evolution as an artist.”

This project is presented as part of SMUSH Gallery’s Summer 2024 Arts Residency Program, with public support from the Jersey City Arts and Culture Trust Fund.
