The public is invited to a candlelight Evensong.
The Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis from the Harvard Service of Charles Callahan will be the featured canticle. Other music by Joseph Rheinberger, Rosephanye Powell, Richard Ayleward, and congregational hymns will be led by the Grace Church Choirs and members of Harmonium Choral Society under the direction of Dr. Anne Matlack. Dr. Evan Cogswell from Calvary Episcopal Church in Summit will be the organist.
The choir is preparing for a summer residency at Wells Cathedral in the UK. Dr. Matlack has been organist/choir director since 1990, and also directs Harmonium Choral Society. Evensong is a traditional Anglican Vespers service with lots of music which lasts about an hour. All are welcome and a reception follows.
