Dear NJ Arts Maven readers,
The
NJ Senate and Assembly Budget Committees have passed a bill that, if not
stopped, will significantly reduce funding for the New Jersey State Council on
the Arts (NJSCA) and other critical cultural entities. This bill removes the
“poison pill” minimum appropriations for NJSCA, the Cultural Trust, the
Historical Commission, and the Department of Tourism. The removal of these
poison pill minimums jeopardizes the stability of funding for all of New
Jersey’s cultural entities, putting them at risk of being eliminated without
consequence at any time. This is unacceptable.
In the next 24-48 hours, the full Senate and Assembly will vote on this bill. If passed, it will go to the Governor’s desk to either be signed or vetoed.
We need your help to stop this bill in its tracks.
Please take two minutes of your time to help sustain the funding that sustains the arts in New Jersey!
THANK YOU!
