Bill Mays is a great
pianist influenced by Earl “Fatha” Hines. Bill started his career on
the West Coast where he
worked with Shelly Manne, Art Pepper, Bud Shank, Sonny Stitt and Stan
Kenton. Later he moved east in the early 80’s and has played with
artists such as Ron Carter, Al Cohn, Eddie Daniels,
Gerry Mulligan, Rufus Reid, Clark Terry, Toots Thielemans and Phil
Woods.
Bill has appeared at
Birdland, The Blue Note, Dizzy’s and Lincoln Center.
At 80 years, Bill is one
of the jazz masters.
