Lloyd-Webber and Tim Rice blockbuster EVITA will
be directed by José Zayas and choreographed by Kelsey
Burns with music direction by Michael Gilch. In
the title role of Eva Perón is Gaby Albo, currently
touring the country as Gloria Estefan in the national tour of On
Your Feet! in Spanish, playing opposite Remember Jones in the role
of Che. The show is being produced by Executive Artistic Director
Andrew DePrisco in association with Remember Jones.
Winner of
the Helen Hayes Award, Gaby Albo hails from Mexico and has been touring
the USA for two years in the life-changing role of Gloria Estefan, in a

COMING THIS
WEEKEND!
CHRIS PINNELLA AND
HIS BAND SING SINATRA!
|
|
Take a
journey back to 1966 with vocal powerhouse Chris Pinnella as
he performs the iconic “Sinatra at the Sands” album in
its entirety, backed by a 14-piece big band. The performance
will take place at 8 PM Saturday, April 13 at
the Axelrod Performing Arts Center.
Pinnella
will perform classic Sinatra tunes, definitely arranged by Quincy
Jones, including ‘Fly Me to The Moon,’ ‘Come Fly With Me,’ and ‘I’ve
Got You Under My Skin.’ The concert concludes with a few bonus
signature songs not on the album: ‘Lady is a Tramp,’ ‘My Way’ and, of
course, ‘New York, New York.’
Pinnella, a NJ
native like Old Blue Eyes himself, has known these songs since
childhood. He says, “Sinatra as an interpreter of songs is a
genius. The way he relates to a lyric and sings on it has always been
why he continues to endure. The music, the band, and the connection to
the audience – this concert has the definitive version of each Sinatra
hit.” Seamlessly capturing the essence of Sinatra, Pinnella is by no
means an impersonator.
“This
show is me singing Sinatra’s songs with his charts plus a big band,” he
said. “We honor him by keeping his legacy and his music alive with the
hope that future generations keep it.
Don’t miss Sinatra
