A young woman has reportedly died under mysterious circumstances. Who was she?

A man visits a wealthy family celebrating a life-changing event. He has read a diary that may link the victim to members of the family.

Politics, wealth, and class relationships all come together to expose secrets. Confessions, denials, and unsuspecting twists are brought to light in “An Inspector Calls,” a mystery play opening March 16 at Westfield Community Players.

“I first saw a London production of An Inspector Calls in 1995” recalls director Cass Cochrane. “The message of this story has stayed with me through the years. I love this play.”

The cast includes Christopher C. Gibbs, Stephen A. Menella, Ruth Kliwinski, Mary O’Connor-Kelley, Kathy Quinn Vaccari, Matt Marino and Ron Richardson—all talented performers who have performed at WCP or other area stages.

Director Cochrane praises these actors, “My experience directing this cast has been joyful and, not unlike the Inspector himself, somewhat otherworldly. They are brilliant and I feel so privileged that I, along with the talented crew at WCP, can help bring this story to the Westfield stage.”

This production is made possible by funds from the Union County office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs, a partner of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.
