Preregistration is required.   Wonderful Winter for Littles February 3 & 9 In this program designed specifically for toddlers and preschoolers, learn to look for the signs of winter on a winter wonderland scavenger hunt! Preregistration is required.   Slip & Slide-Its Glacier Time February 5 The icy winter is the perfect time to learn all about glaciers!  (Psst, did you know the Great Swamp has a cool glacial history?) Preregistration is required.   Hot Chocolate Walk February 10 Join Fosterfields staff on a walking tour around the farm and warm up with a cup of delicious hot chocolate. Maple Sugaring Demos February 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 & 25 Learn how to identify and tap maple trees, collect sap, and make real maple syrup over a wood-fired evaporator. Finish with a syrup taste test! Demos will take place indoors & outdoors and will include a multimedia presentation. Syrup will be available for purchase, while supplies last. Preregistration is encouraged to secure a spot, but walk-ins are permitted if space allows.    Chocolate Workshop February 8 Chocolates for Valentine’s Day or for Chocolate Lovers! In this workshop discuss techniques, create filled chocolates & other chocolate covered goodies including pan truffles. During down time, enjoy some freshly made chocolate covered fruit. Preregistration is required.   Home School Days—A Future in Nature: Field Botanists February 8 Equipped with clipboard, bag to collect samples, and more, students will become field botanists and bring home their very own field book. Look What's Coming: Floral Arranging with Supermarket Flowers: It's Valentine's Day! February 13 BYOB—Bring your own bunch of supermarket flowers—just in time for Valentines' Day. Use supermarket flowers to make a knock-out bouquet perfect for giving to that special Valentine. Ann Fahey, Superintendent of Horticulture Education, will lead this hands-on class. We supply greens and the container and you supply the flowers. Join us for this floral arranging session! Cost: $25 per person. Preregistration is required.   Community Garden Garden plots are available in the Morris County Community Garden.  It’s time to get your hands in the soil in your own 10 x 20-foot plot.
