This Week: Little Farm Friends Goat Greet January 26: Come to Fosterfields to meet our goats. Learn about what they do on the farm, where they live and how to interact with them. Feeding Day February 2: Have you ever fed a farm animal? Curious about what they eat? Come feed our animals at Fosterfields!  Click here to have fun at the farm! Cost: $10 per child per session. Preregistration required.     Tracks and Signs Winter Walk January 27 Bring the whole family out on this guided hike to hunt for the tracks and signs wildlife leave behind and decipher what they tell us. Click here for details. Cost: Free.  Preregistration is required.   Frelinghuysen Grounds and History Tour January 31 Explore the grounds and history with a guided tour of the Frelinghuysen Arboretum. Bundle up and make sure to wear sturdy walking shoes. Meet near the kiosk by the parking lot. More details here. Cost: $15 per person. Preregistration is required.

Spotlight On: Summer camp fair January 27 Fairy camp, art camp, gardening camp, nature camps, outdoor skills camp, farm camp, science camp and even golf camp - the Morris County Park Commission has them all. Learn about the different day camp offerings throughout the parks during this event which will feature activities, games, fun, and information. Read more here. Cost: Free. Walk ins are encouraged. Maple Sugaring Demos January 27 & 28 Learn how to identify and tap maple trees, collect sap, and make real maple syrup over a wood-fired evaporator. Finish with a syrup taste test! This program will be held entirely outdoors, so dress for the weather. Syrup will be available for purchase, while supplies last. Click to learn more! Cost: $6 per person. Preregistration is required.   Maple Sugaring for Littles January 30 & February 12 Since the little ones are too young for our regular maple sugaring demos, we are offering special sessions just for them. Enjoy a maple sugaring story and a walk and talk with a naturalist all about making maple syrup from trees. Finish by trying some tasty syrup!  Click to learn more. Cost: $7 per child. Preregistration is required.   Winter's Day on the Farm February 11 Winter doesn't halt activity on the farm!  Learn how to cut and harvest ice, help the staff saw wood, pet the cows and see a cooking demonstration. Take a wagon ride around the farm to see it in all of its wintery splendor! (Ice cutting is dependent on weather and the pond probably won’t freeze this year!)  Learn more here. Look What's Coming: Valentine's Day Chocolate Workshop February 8 Chocolates for Valentine’s Day or for Chocolate Lover’s! In this workshop discuss techniques, create filled chocolates & other chocolate covered goodies including pan truffles. During down time, enjoy some freshly made chocolate covered fruit. Learn more about the event. Cost: $50 per person. Preregistration required.    Stitch-a-Bear! (pt. 1) February 13 Learn the basics of sewing while creating a cuddly personalized friend or Valentine's Day gift during this two-part program. More information here. Cost: $20 per person. Preregistration required.      Community Garden Garden plots are available in the Morris County Community Garden.  It’s time to get your hands in the soil in your own 10 x 20-foot plot.  The Community Garden season begins March 20.
