Light Opera of New Jersey (LONJ) is pleased to announce the
appointment of Teresa Giardina as the new Director of Outreach and
Community Engagement.
According to
Jason Tramm, Executive Producer, “Tess is extremely qualified for this
position and has extensive experience working for arts companies like
the New Jersey Symphony. We are delighted to have her leading this
important initiative that seeks to open the power of the arts to all.”
Tess has been involved with LONJ for several seasons as a performer and
volunteer and is excited to continue to build relationships with
various individuals and community groups in the region.
Opera for All
was established by LONJ to provide 10% of mainstage tickets at no cost
to groups experiencing disadvantages in New Jersey. Now in its second
year, this innovative program was originally partially funded by a
grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. Individuals and
organizations are invited to apply for free tickets to
The Barber of Seville tells the story of Count Almaviva and his attempts to win the
heart of the beautiful Rosina, with the help of the cunning Figaro, the
barber of Seville. This production will be performed by an
internationally acclaimed cast with period sets and costumes, and the
Light Opera of New Jersey Chorus and Orchestra under the baton of
Maestro Jason Tramm.
