This Week: Little Farm Friends: Dairy Day January 19 Did you know Fosterfields used to be a dairy farm? Meet our cows, tour the creamery, and churn some butter to take home! Come join us! Cost: $10 per child. Preregistration required.   Wild Animal Experts: Winter Birds January 20 Saturday mornings are a great time to take a nature walk and discover amazing facts about New Jersey's wildlife! Join a naturalist for this popular series to learn about a new animal every month. In this session, we'll explore the birds that choose to stick around during winter.  Click here for more information. Cost: $10 per child. Preregistration required.   Making Pot-Holders January 20 Using looms, create your own unique pot-holders to use in your kitchen! Join us here. Cost: $10 per person. Preregistration required.       Adventures in STEM: Snowy Science January 23 In this series, young scientists will explore different parts of the natural world through experiments and activities, making surprising discoveries along the way. Preregistration required.   Garden Sprouts - Food for Friends January 24 Birds have a tough time finding food in winter. Look for birds around the garden and mix together your own bird food that will feed our chirping friends, including chickadees and woodpeckers. This program is snow or shine. Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. Let’s get started here. Cost: $10 per child with adult. Preregistration required.

Spotlight On: Maple Sugaring Demos January 20, 21, 27 and 28 Learn how to identify and tap maple trees, collect sap, and make real maple syrup over a wood-fired evaporator. Finish with a syrup taste test! This program will be held entirely outdoors, so dress for the weather. Syrup will be available for purchase, while supplies last.  Click here to join us. Preregistration required.   Summer Camp Fair January 27 Fairy camp, art camp, gardening camp, nature camps, outdoor skills camp, historic sites camps and even golf camp -- the Morris County Park Commission has them all. Learn about all the different day camp offerings throughout the parks during this afternoon event which will feature activities, games, fun, and information.  Read more here.  Cost: Free. Walk ins are encouraged. Winter's Day on the Farm February 11 Winter doesn't halt activity on the farm! Learn how to cut and harvest ice, help the staff saw wood, pet the cows and see a cooking demonstration. Take a wagon ride around the farm to see it in all of its wintery splendor! Learn more here.
