New Year, New Milestones Await in Morris County Parks

Happy New Year from the Morris County Park Commission! We wish everyone a great Holiday season and a very Happy New Year 2024! We can't wait for you to visit our parks this coming year.      Spotlight On: Festival of Trees December 28, 29, & 30 Last few days left to visit the Frelinghuysen Arboretum's Mansion decorated for the holidays in the Festival of Trees. Enjoy trees decorated by scouts, families, floral designers and garden clubs in this outing for the family. Come, behold the Festival of Trees! Cost: $10 per person. Preregistration is required.    The Hidden Wilderness January 3 Kids can join our staff to explore the wonders of the Frelinghuysen Arboretum. Travel the trails, look in the streams, and find what's exciting and alive in the wilderness areas of the Arboretum. Wear waterproof shoes and dress for the outdoors. Explore more! Cost: $10 per child. Preregistration is required.    Little Farm Friends: Tractors and Transportation January 5 How did people travel before they had cars? You'll find out in the transportation exhibit! Sit on an old-fashioned tractor and pretend to drive the cars from over one hundred years ago. Ready to go vroom? Cost: $10 per child. Preregistration is required.     Winter Birding for Adults January 5 Just because many birds have left for the winter doesn't mean there aren't lots of birds to see! Start indoors to view the activity at our feeders before we head out on the trails to see which intrepid birds have decided to stick it out in NJ.
