Give your kids the gift of theater!

Winter 2024 After School Theater Classes
(Hint: a wonderful gift for the holidays!)

Chatham Players is offering an eight-week session of after school theater classes on Tuesday Afternoons from January 16 through March 5, 2024.

Classes are open to students with all levels of experience, regardless of whether or not they have had previous theater or acting training.

  • INTRODUCTION TO ACTING (ages 11 to 17)  - 3:30 to 4:30 pm. This class is specifically designed for students who want to try acting for the first time.  Using a combination of improvisation and scripted work, you’ll learn to develop believable characters and find a comfort level with performing in front of an audience.
  • CREATIVE DRAMA (ages 5 to 10) - 4:30 to 5:30 pm. A high-energy experience that packs loads of fun into a single hour, this class features theater games and various activities that help young performers explore their individual creativity, while also learning how to work as part of a group.
  • AUDITION WORKSHOP (ages 13 to 17) - 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Whether preparing to audition for a school production or looking toward future shows, this workshop offers a peek behind the audition table and will help students reduce nerves, find material, and become more comfortable in the audition setting.

Fat Pig by Neil LaBute

Looking for Ms. Right, Tom meets Helen and is bowled over by her wit, her intellect and her interest. There’s one catch: Helen is overweight. Overcoming his own bias for her love, Tom doesn’t account for the reaction of friends and co-workers, forcing a man to choose between the woman he loves and how others perceive her. A love story that examines the extent with which we allow vanity, peer pressure, and perception to determine our self-worth.

The Chatham Community Players have been bringing theater to Chatham and surrounding towns for 100 YEARS!!!  Tickets are now on sale for select shows.
