PUMPKIN ILLUMINATION RECAP
Morris Arts' 14th Annual Pumpkin
Illumination was held on Sunday, October 22 on the grounds of the
Vail Mansion in Morristown. This year may have been our biggest yet
with 1,300+ participants and their
creatively carved pumpkins coming together to celebrate Halloween with
their families, friends, and neighbors.
This popular annual event is one of Morris Arts’ Creative
Placemaking initiatives, developed to bring
expressive, free, and fun artistic happenings to nontraditional spaces,
and to promote a sense of community through the
arts.
We'd like to thank the following people and organizations
who made this event possible: Kitty Jones of Kit's Interactive Theatre,
Dan Fenelon of CORE Creative Placemaking, The
Alex De Lazzari Quartet, Mayor Tim and Mary Dougherty, our
staff and volunteers, and event sponsor, Mondelēz International.

HER WORDS &
HARMONIUM CHORAL SOCIETY COLLABORATION
Morris Arts' Her Words program participants had the
pleasure of hosting the Executive Director, Jody Marcus, and Artistic
Director, Anne Matlack, from the Harmonium Choral Society in one of
their recent workshops. Together, they discussed the upcoming opportunity
for Her Words to join forces with Harmonium Choral Society for their
June concert. To kickstart this creative journey, the girls were
invited to craft and submit poems for Harmonium's Choral composition
contest as well. With this year's theme, 'Be Brave,' the girls were
filled with excitement as they embarked on their writing
exploration.

Love and Magic
NOV 12 | 2PM | $5-$40 PER TICKET
Dolan Hall, The Annunciation Center, Saint Elizabeth
University
Love is in the air, but it might take a magic spell to
make it happen in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Bastien und
Bastienne.
It is the tale of a young shepherd (Bastien) and a young
shepherdes (Bastienne) who somehow get a bit mixed up and require the
advice and help of Colas, the village soothsayer who might or might not
actually be able to perform any magic. Despite some
misunderstandings, love triumphs in the end.
