CMS
returns to Drew University for a new season filled with beloved
classics and rare gems. The first concert in the series kicks off
this weekend.
CMS
celebrates the 150th birthday of one of the last great Romantic
composers, Sergei Rachmaninoff, a supreme virtuoso pianist and
composer who stole hearts worldwide with achingly beautiful melodies
and alluring harmonies. This concert pairs Rachmaninoff's singular
voice with those of his mentors and contemporaries: Rubinstein,
Tchaikovsky, Balakirev, Mussorgsky, Glinka, and Rimsky-Korsakov.
Soprano
Erika Baikoff, winner of the 2023 George London Award, joins pianist
Gilles Vonsattel, violinist Benjamin Beilman, and cellist Clive
Greensmith.
