You're Invited: Free Community Chats with Artist Phillip Adams @ HAM
We invite you to a series
of informal community chats with artist Phillip
Adams, who is currently constructing
a 90-foot mural titled Wild Ride on
our terrace. These chats are free and open
to the public, offering a unique opportunity to
engage with the artist and explore the creative
process behind this work at HAM. No RSVP

Phillip’s mural is
inspired by the South Branch of the Raritan
River, flowing directly behind the terrace’s
retention wall and former chalkboard. This
composition creates an optical illusion of the
river, painting it as it flows south away from
The mural symbolizes
healing, rebirth, power, and life, and connects
to deeper ideas about creativity, curiosity,
and wonder. It will feature origami boats
floating downstream, each colored according to
the spectrum of the rainbow. These boats serve
as symbols of creativity, also representing the
art programs held by HAM for the past 70 years.

Series – The Art of Mindfulness and Meditation
Part 2: The Mindfulness of Art-Making
Join us for a second round of gentle
meditation, art making, journaling, and
discussion to unplug from the stressors and
distractions of our busy lives. Develop a daily
meditative creative practice to reduce stress
and strengthen concentration. The union of
breath and art making can be immediate and
achievable. Both new and experienced artists
can benefit from creating art in service of
taking care of the mind, body, and spirit. No

A two-hour restorative class combining gentle
yoga, breath work, and rest. Learn about the
Japanese art of Kintsugi and golden pottery
repair. Explore your own places of mending and
healing through watercolors and gold paint. A
nourishing and inspirational class to stretch
together and highlight moments of healing.
Series – Art of Restoration 3: Yoga and the
Healing Power of Nature
A two-hour class offering gentle and
restorative yoga combined with a mindful walk
in nature. Discuss Shin-Rin Yoku, the healing
practice of forest bathing, and learn how time
in nature enhances creativity, healing, and
