Grace Episcopal Church, 4 Madison Ave., Madison, New Jersey

Moving from the COVID experience, The Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey has been happy to offer free summer festival concerts.

We hope you'll join us for our 2023 Summer Festival Finale featuring music of our Maestro Robert W. Butts and works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonio Vivaldiand others.

We are happy to celebrate summer with you with these concerts.

If you have enjoyed these, we hope you will be able to contribute so we can continue to share summer with music.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed his first symphony in 1764 - which means he was but 8 years old at at the time. While that alone is wondrous, what is even more amazing is that the music is so wonderful and perfect for a summer afternoon!

Mozart composed the work while the family was in London, where he met and was highly influenced by Johann Christian Bach, one of Johann Sebastian's highly talented composer sons. To celebrate Mozart's friendship with Johann Christian Bach, we will play the allegro movement of Bach's Quintet in D.

Antonio Vivaldi remains one of the most popular of Baroque composers. We will perform his exciting Concerto in D minor.

Last November, we premiered The Amiable Consort, composed by Maestro Butts on commission. The work has received acclaimed notice and has been featured on radio broadcasts. This will be the first complete performance since that premiere.

The performance on August 20 is Free Admission.
