Jazz pianist extraordinaire Dr. Art
Topilow returns for his popular summer concert, sharing the
stage with his friend, the singer/saxophonist Danny Bacher,
himself the recipient of the prestigious Margaret Whiting Award and
hailed as one of NYC’s Best Male Jazz Vocalists.
The two have teamed up for multiple shows for the
Axelrod and their combined energy together creates live jazz magic
every time.
Danny, like everyone at the Axelrod, believes that “Art
Topilow is a lovely person…. He works very hard as a doctor and as a
musician. He always gives a great performance, especially for someone
who doesn’t do it full-time. He’s a gifted and talented pianist. And if
something goes wrong, there’s always a doctor in the house!”
The dynamic duo will be joined by two highly acclaimed,
exceptionally gifted female vocalists Charenèe Wade
and Nicole Zuraitis, paying
tribute to legendary ladies of song like Ella Fitzgerald,
Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Billie Holliday, Judy Garland, and Sarah Vaughan
plus some latter-day greats like Carole King, Whitney Houston,
Roberta Flack and Aretha Franklin. Joining this all-star lineup
will be Gary Mazzaroppi (bass) and Dan Pugach (drums).
General admission tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at
the door.
