The timeless story of sisters facing a changing world will come to life onstage when Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center stages the play Little Women.

Kate Hamill’s version of the classic novel reimagines the much-loved story for today’s audiences while staying true to the story of young women struggling with what it means to grow up in a nation torn apart by the Civil War. Jo March doesn’t want to be like other girls. She longs to see the world and share her writing. But she has to contend with what is happening in her family and in the world around them. Gender roles, political beliefs, poverty, and even love threaten the family, as the March sisters try to reconcile their identities with society’s demands.

Dragonfly’s production of Little Women is directed by Julia Stibich, produced by Catherine LaMoreaux, stage managed by Jada Davis, with Aidan O’Rourke and Vicki Cardona making up the crew. The cast includes Christiane Lange as Jo, Dragonfly regular Jolé Antoinette as Meg, Sanya Bhatia as Amy, Emily Rosales as Beth, Liz Rapelye as Marmee, Dragonfly regular Elena Marie Abdou as Aunt March/Hannah, Thomas Evansky as Laurie. The cast is rounded out by Jillana Kucey, John Thatcher, and Jon Turner.
