This Week: LITTLE HISTORY EXPLORERS AT HISTORIC SPEEDWELL June 1 We sit or squirm Thursday mornings for a story and a snack with young learners and a parent. Preregistration is required.   SUNSHINE YOGA FOR KIDS: NIGHT SKY June 3 An awesome class for kids who want to play games, use their imaginations and have FUN! Each class is taught by a licensed instructor and centers around a nature theme. Kids learn 5 yoga poses to use in our games. At the end of every class, we will talk about a “big feeling”, such as being mad, and learn a new tool to help us cope with that feeling. Click here to learn more. Cost: $12 per child. Preregistration is required.   HOOK, LINE, AND SINKER June 3 Fish on! Anglers wanted at Fosterfields. Fish our farm pond using bamboo poles… then throw your catch of the day back in! Preregistration is required.   LENAPE LIFE June 4 Get a feel for what life was like hundreds of years ago in New Jersey for the Lenni-Lenape!  Tour our decorated model wigwam, try out stone and wooden tools, learn the games Lenape children played and try making a fire with a bow drill. Preregistration is required.   ART IN BLOOM FOR GIRL SCOUTS June 5 Visit Art in Bloom in the historic mansion and learn how floral arrangers interpret pieces of art and create your own floral interpretation to take home. Each scout should bring their own individual supermarket bouquet to use. Find out more! Cost: $25 per scout. Preregistration is required.   SOAP MAKING WITH HONEY & FLOWERS June 8 Celebrate the bees by making 4 bars of gentle glycerin and honey-based soaps with flowers, aromatic herbs, and essential oils. Spotlight On: PARANORMAL EVENINGS June 3 The grounds of Fosterfields become the setting for an evening of paranormal investigations. Visit several different locations on the farm, including the historic Willows Mansion. Join us to see what exciting paranormal activities await! Learn more! Cost: $45 per person. ART IN BLOOM June 4 Join us for a magnificent art show featuring more than a dozen of landscape designer Martha Brookes Hutcheson's original paintings and graphic designs accompanied by floral arrangement interpretations of her works of art. This year's Art in Bloom will take place in the newly re-opened Frelinghuysen Arboretum's Mansion.  If you would like to participate as a flower arranger, call 973-326-7601 for more information. Enjoy an evening full of s’mores, stargazing, and campfire stories while creating unforgettable memories. Fall asleep to the gentle sounds of the lake and wake up with a stunning sunrise. FAIRY DAY June 25 The Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morris Twp. welcomes fairies to visit the gardens. Where can these tiny sprites find shelter during their stay? Families, groups, and fairy lovers of all ages design and build their own houses to welcome the wee folk, including fairies, gnomes, and other garden sprites arriving to celebrate the Summer Solstice. Piles of bark, branches, lichens, mosses, feathers, stones, and leaves are provided for building. Enjoy a fairy snack and make a fairy craft, too.  Find out more here. Cost: $35 per fairy house.
