University of Orange announces the 7th Annual Music City Festival in Orange, NJ

 


MUSIC CITY FESTIVAL: LIVING FOR THE CITY! 
WHEN:  May 12th, 13th, and 14th with a special pre-festival event on May 9th.
WHERE: Walter G Alexander Village (105 Wilson Place) on Tuesday May 9th, Sarrah’s Cafe Trinbago and Southern Komfort Bar & Grill (Central Avenue and Scotland Road) on Friday May 12th, Inner City Cafe and Mister Taco (South Essex Avenue) on Saturday May 13th, and Hat City Kitchen (Valley Street) on May 14th.

On May 9th, we celebrate the life and legacy of Slide Hampton, who lived at 105 Wilson Place in Orange for the last 25 years of his life before his passing in 2021. A “Heroes of Orange” banner for Slide will be unveiled and a Slide Hampton 8-trombone tribute ensemble will perform.

May 12th, 13th, and 14th will feature over 20 performances from local and regional artists, including a 75-minute Stevie Wonder tribute performance for Stevie’s birthday on Saturday, May 13th, an after party on Friday, May 12th at Southern Komfort, and an 8-piece Uruguayan dance band on Sunday, May 14th.
