Thu, May 11 @ 6PM

Good Neighbor Baptist Church
100 Chancellor Ave, Newark, NJ
Free Event

Women in Ministry who have broken gender barriers from various denominations discuss sustaining the balance of their calling, their work and their home.

This second in a series of conversations about women in the ministry focuses on post-pandemic challenges and the burdens and responsibilities facing Black female clergy members. No one is immune from pandemic hardships, including faith leaders, and the burdens carried by women in the ministry are compounded by the loads they bear including personal, collective and spiritual ones. How do these faith leaders protect their mental health and well-being? How have they pivoted in their ministry and personal life? And what role should women in the church play in the political arena?

This conversation will be moderated by Rev. Maria Crompton, first woman to serve as Senior Pastor at Elmwood United Presbyterian Church in East Orange.
