Auditions open for all orchestral instruments (with a special call for viola, double bass, oboe, bassoon, horn and low brass)

Philadelphia Sinfonia accepts musicians by audition, which determines placement in our orchestras.

  • Philadelphia Sinfonia (PS) – advanced full symphony orchestra, conducted by Gary D. White
  • Philadelphia Sinfonia Players (PSP) – advanced-intermediate full symphony orchestra, conducted by Danielle Garrett
  • Philadelphia Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra (PSCO) – advanced strings-only chamber orchestra, open to all strings in PS and by invitation for PSP, conducted by Gary D. White
  • Philadelphia Sinfonia Strings (PSS) - introductory level string ensemble, directed by Beth Dzwil

Register online, select your date availability, and we will confirm your audition time.
 

 

 

 

Auditions take place at:
   St. Stephen's Episcopal Church
   19 S. 10th Street, Philadelphia


Philadelphia Sinfonia is easily accessible by transportation: 
We are a short walk from all Septa Regional Rail lines and the PATCO high speed line, 
and inexpensive parking is available nearby.

Our youth orchestra program also includes:

  • Sectionals and master classes with Philadelphia Orchestra musicians and other top professionals
  • Side-by-side events with professional ensembles
  • Two or more concerts for each ensemble per season
  • Artistic and community partnership opportunities
  • Varied and challenging musical repertoire
  • Exceptional orchestral training process
