Announcing a New Season of Outdoor Concerts on the Back Deck! Member Early Access this Week!

 

 

 

 

Early Access to Morris Museum Members:

Thursday, May 18 through Wednesday, May 24

The 2023 season of concerts on The Back Deck features a great mix of returning favorites and exciting debuts. Get your tickets soon to reserve the best spaces and then pack your picnics and prepare for your summer serenade! If you aren't a member already, join today to enjoy first dibs on tickets for The Back Deck and enjoy access to the museum, invitations to openings, and discounts in the Bickford Theatre throughout the year!

Members can purchase tickets today—a whole week before the box office opens to the general public!

 

 

Attendees must bring their own chairs and are welcome to bring refreshments to enjoy the live music atop the Morris Museum’s elevated parking deck. 

TICKETS: $50 for an 8’x8’ block that accommodates up to two patrons (in green on the seating chart) or $25 for a block that accommodates one patron (in orange). Concerts begin at 7:30 PM but patrons are welcome to arrive as early as 5:00 PM to enjoy their picnics. In the event of inclement weather, outdoor performances will be held inside the Museum’s Bickford Theatre.

The Morris Museum has adopted a dynamic mask policy for upcoming events inside the Bickford Theatre. Face masks are currently optional in the CENTER and HOUSE RIGHT sections and are required in the HOUSE LEFT section. The genre-defying and ever-exciting ETHEL returns to the Back Deck for their first appearance since 2021. Known for their arrangements of a vast array of music, ETHEL delivers electric performances that surprise critics and audiences alike.

Amani: A Celebration of Harry Belafonte

In 1959, Harry Belafonte created a live recording from Carnegie Hall that would remain on the charts for over three years. This concert highlighted Belafonte’s sensitivity as an artist and activist through his iconic performance of beloved works.

Making their NJ and Back Deck debut, Alla Boara brings a contemporary jazz sensibility to the ancient folk music of Italy! Alla Boara seeks to bring recognition and new life to Italy’s diverse history of regional folk music.


 


Galvin Cello Quartet

The Galvin Cello Quartet explores the limitless range of a cello ensemble by bringing together new works from diverse cultural backgrounds while seeking to establish the cello quartet as a core part of the classical music world.
