"The New
Jersey Trolley Era" is an exhibit assembled from the collections of members of the North Jersey
Electric Railway Historical Society and Liberty Historic Railway,
with outstanding assistance from the Boonton Historical Society and
Museum.
The display
includes scale models of various types of trolley cars that
operated in New Jersey, along with streetcar memorabilia and
artifacts such as operators' uniform jackets/hats, badges, books,
publications, posters, post cards, photos, lithographs, maps, videos,
tickets, timetables, lanterns, hardware, and more.
Please see the
photos below. The exhibit has been at Boonton Historical Society
and Dover Historical Society and is currently at the Mahwah
Historical Society.
This summer we
plan on moving it from Mahwah to a new site. If your museum or
library would like to exhibit this amazing collection for a while,
please contact Bill McKelvey at erie5012@hotmail.com..
