Programs for All Ages for Black History Month




IN PERSON: Bilingual Storytelling: West African Folktales

Saturday Feb 25 | 2:00pm | Auditorium

Family event for children of all ages. Join us for a bilingual storytelling program in celebration of Black History Month featuring the French language and children’s folk tales from Burkina Faso, where French is the official language spoken. 


IN PERSON: Songs in the Key of Wonder with the James Austin Trio

Sunday Feb 26 | 2:00pm | Auditorium

The James Austin Trio will perform jazz standards as well as selections from their latest release, Songs in the Key of Wonder, which showcases the tasteful instrumental arrangements of a selection of classic compositions from the songbook of the great Stevie Wonder.


This program was originally scheduled for Feb 12 but has been rescheduled to Feb 26.

VIRTUAL: Black Citizenship in the Era of Jim Crow

Thursday Feb 16 | 7:00pm

Come join us during Black History Month for this virtual tour of the New-York Historical Society’s 2018 traveling exhibit. The exhibit recounts the dramatic, national story of the struggle for Black equality after the end of slavery. Presented for Black History Month.


IN PERSON: One Stitch at a Time

Makers gonna make! Come join our friendly group for an hour of fun and relaxation. We are crafters of all levels who create handmade items and projects using needlework. Bring a small project to our group to work on.

Learn how to use the Data Axle: Reference Solutions databases (provided by the NJ State Library), a great tool to get a list of prospective businesses and consumers to contact or research for your own business.
