Meet the Reitman Visiting Professor, Ezra Tzfadya

 

 

 

 

 

 

 




 

 




We are pleased to introduce Ezra Tzfadya, a scholar of both Shia Islamic and Jewish political and legal thought. Prior to coming to Rutgers, he was an Iran Policy Fellow at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a visiting faculty member in the Borns Jewish Studies Program at the University of Indiana (IU) Bloomington. He is currently a senior fellow at IU's Center for the Study of the Middle East and leads the program “Shia Islamic and Jewish Legal Reasoning in Dialogue.”

 


 




At Rutgers, Dr. Tzfadya is teaching an undergraduate course on modern Jewish history. He also delivered a faculty seminar, Judaism in the Sectarian Muslim World: Conflict and Normalization Following the Abraham Accords,which was hosted by the Bildner Center and cosponsored by the Departments of Jewish Studies and Religion and the Center for Middle Eastern Studies.
