The Craft of Acting & Writing

 

Join award winning writer/actress/director Laiona Michelle (Little Girl Blue, Mandela) as she shares her unique experiences and techniques for creating complex characters and dynamic stories. Laiona Michelle has been nominated for numerous awards, including the Lucille Lortel (2022), Antonyo Awards (2022); and she is the recipient of the Barrymore and Carbonell Awards (2004); The NAACP Hollywood award (2005), and she was nominated for the Helen Hayes Award (2005). Some of her TV/Film credits include Lift, All My Children, Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The Blacklist, and Crashing, as well as Amazon’s Sneaky Pete

Online Playwriting Class

 

Join the writers' room with Award-winning playwright, Laiona Michelle who is thrilled to be teaching GSP’s playwriting for beginners. Some of Laiona’s notable work includes the off-Broadway musical, Little Girl Blue and most recently, Mandela, which will debut at the Young Vic in London.  This course is designed for new and emerging writers who are ready to explore play construction and the art of storytelling.

Format: Remote - All sessions are held via ZOOM

 

 

 

 

In-Person Classes Starting April 24th

 

Do you have a fear of public speaking? Do you enjoy watching and reading plays? Are you looking for a creative outlet to explore and meet like-minded adults? Have you ever wanted to jump-start your imagination by trying something new?

This 7-week exploratory in-person acting class is designed for all adults interested in learning improvisation skills and acting techniques. Bonus: This class offers a backstage look into the rehearsal process from our season of shows.
