Spotlight
on the Collection
|
|

MAM’s bimonthly series, Spotlight on the
Collection, highlights artworks from the permanent
collection and original scholarship by MAM staff. One of
the most recognizable works in MAM's permanent collection, Crown
for the Victor (1896) was given to the Montclair Art
Museum by one of its co-founders, Florence Rand Lang.
William Couper completed the sculpture during his last year
living in Florence and took inspiration from the Italian
setting to perfect its neoclassical style.
