In Memoriam - TIFF 2022 is Dedicated to Sandi Klein.

All of us from the Teaneck International Film Festival who knew and worked with Sandi Klein mourn the loss of this extraordinary woman. A member of the TIFF committee from the beginning, Sandi was called upon every year to be a moderator of talkbacks and for almost two decades, she discussed a broad range of issues with guests that included filmmakers, actors, authors, politicians, professors, activists, and experts in a variety of fields. She was a well-known voice of WINS Radio for 20 years before retiring in 2012, at which time she founded Sandi Klein’s Conversations with Creative Women, interviewing over 500 fascinating women on the podcast. ->

Special thanks to Barbara Balkin for putting this wonderful video together.

In memoriam | TIFF 2022 is dedicated to Sandi Klein.

Although claiming that she "had a face for radio," Sandi adapted easily to being seen on stage (and Zoom) for the discussions that followed TIFF screenings. Her insightful questions, warmth, and wit ensured deep dives into issues, and fascinating conversations. As a member of the TIFF committee, her ideas and suggestions for films helped shape the festival "with a social conscience." The loss suffered by her loving family and close friends is shared by all who knew her and were inspired by her passion, activism, work ethic, zest for life, and courage. She truly made the world a better place, and we were better people with her in it. Her voice will still be heard; her influence will still be felt. The 2022 Teaneck International Film Festival is dedicated-with love and admiration-to Sandi Klein.
