programs feature dance in many formats from tap and swing to folk and modern.
Swing Dancing with Nissreen Almazouni & the Bottle Hill Swing Band
WHEN: 7:00 on Monday, November 28.
Beginning dancers can take instruction from noted dance teacher Nissreen Almazouni starting at 7:00 and then the Big Band starts playing at 7:30. Tap Dancers Take the Lead with the Antoinette Montague Experience
WHEN: 7:30 on Tuesday, November 29.
Jazz and Blues
Singer Antoinette Montague brings her trio to the Arts Center along with two
professional tap dancers, A.C. Lincoln and Calvin Booker, who take the role of
instruments. Her two dancers are regulars at Jazz at Lincoln Center and bring
an excitement and creativity to jazz dance unlike anything most people have

Dance and Storytelling
WHEN: 7:30 on Wednesday, November
30.
An evening of storytellers and choreographers who challenge the audience with their very creative approach to dance. Claire Porter, an internationally renowned dancer/actor, creates entertaining and unique movement/language experiences that blur the lines between theater and dance. Paul Rabinowicz, the Executive Director of Arts by the People, will read selections from some of his short stories with the accompaniment of three dancers. Tickets are a low $20. Young Dancers Take the Stage with Drew University’s Kimani Fowlin

College Students show off their skills in a program that bodes well for the future of dance. Drew University Assistant Professor of Dance Kimani Fowlin, an internationally recognized dancer, choreographer and educator, will bring her most advanced students for a program entitled Choice. The Thomas Edison Film Festival Presents Award-Winning Films with Dance
WHEN: 7:30 on Friday, December 2.
The Thomas Edison
Film Festival celebrates 40 years of great short films and will come to Madison
for one evening only with a program of films using a dance motif. Formerly the
Black Maria Film Festival, TEFF screens juried
short films all over the world, advancing the creative power of film. Executive
Director Jane Steuerwald will introduce the program and then discuss how dance
is used in each of the films. Advance sale tickets are only $15.
Carolyn Dorfman Dance

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the internationally renowned modern dance company Carolyn Dorfman Dance, is dedicating this season to Carolyn Dorfman’s extraordinary parents, Henry and Mala Dorfman. Each performance celebrates the power of individuals working in relations to build a better community, a stronger world. Among the works performed will be excerpts of her newest work, The Attitude of Doing (featuring music of Regina Carter), PRIMA! (celebrating the music of Louis Prima), and NOW! All funds raised at this show will be donated to aid for Ukraine through the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (www.unwla.org), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The performance will include the Iskra Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, a Ukrainian Folk Dance group, and several Ukrainian musicians.
