Kean University and internationally acclaimed bassist/producer Mike Griot present the second annual Jazz & Roots Music Festival, a free outdoor music festival open to the public on The Lawn at Enlow Hall in Hillside, New Jersey. No ticket required. Bring a blanket or chair and join the festivities!

Five-time Grammy winner DIANNE REEVES is the preeminent jazz vocalist in the world. As a result of her breathtaking virtuosity, improvisational prowess, and unique jazz and R&B stylings, Reeves received the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Performance for three consecutive recordings – a Grammy first in any vocal category. Featured in George Clooney's six-time Academy Award nominated Good Night, and Good Luck, Reeves won the Best Jazz Vocal Grammy for the film's soundtrack. And in 2018 she was designated a Jazzmaster — the highest honor the U.S. bestows on jazz artists.

Also Performing Big Fun(k)! The Don Braden/Karl Latham led jam band Big Fun(k) is a dream band for the musicians who have known each other for years. Judah Tribe The soul-reggae band is led by singers/songwriters Josh David (Q-Tip, Joy Denalane, Rene Neufville, Soul Cycle) and Eric “The General” Toussaint (Junior Reid, Riddim Nation, Ossie Delimore). Blues People NY/NJ band featuring Kelton Cooper (vocals/guitar), Mike Griot (bass), Victor Burks (vocals/keys) and Gene Lake (drums).
