JASON ROBERT BROWN IN CONCERT

AXELROD WELCOMES JASON ROBERT BROWN

Sunday, October 16, 3 p.m.

Jason is the ultimate multi-hyphenate – an equally skilled composer, lyricist, conductor, arranger, orchestrator, director and performer – best known for his dazzling scores to several of the most renowned musicals of his generation, including the generation-defining The Last Five Years, his debut song cycle Songs for a New World, and the Broadway musicals Parade and The Bridges of Madison County, for which he won three Tony Awards. Two of his Off-Broadway musicals, The Last Five Years and 13, were recently turned into films.

As a solo artist and lead singer, Jason has performed concerts around the world. He has recorded popular albums, sharing the mic with such artists as Ariana Grande, Shoshana Bean, Anika Noni Rose, Lauren Kennedy and others. He has conducted and created arrangements and orchestrations for Liza Minnelli, John Pizzarelli, and Michael Feinstein, among many others.

Like all nonprofit arts groups in the country, the Axelrod Performing Arts Center is working harder than ever to come back and regenerate after the pandemic. Our audiences are still 40% less than 2019. So, if you haven’t returned to the theater, we miss you and this season is your opportunity to return! Donor support is more important than ever. For all new donors and donors rejoining us this year as members, this special Jason Robert Brown concert will be FREE to you as our way of thanking you for being a part of our mission to bring diverse, quality arts to Monmouth County and beyond!
