1953, Sing Sing Prison: David
Greenglass, Ethel’s brother, helped the Rosenbergs steal the secret of
the atom bomb and then testified against them. He has been flown from a
Pennsylvania prison to convince Julius to admit his guilt and name
other spies, to get the Rosenbergs' sentences commuted. Julius must
choose between David’s assurances of a new beginning, and Ethel’s
insistence that they remain true to their ideals even if it leads to
their deaths.
